Pedro De Armas

As a founder and Editor of El Informador Newspaper. With over 25 years of experience in journalism (print and television), Pedro leads the editorial team with a focus on maintaining high journalistic standards and integrity. His expertise in community journalism, as a presenter of a magazine style television show, and his attention to detail ensures that our content is both impactful, relevant and accurate. He is also a community video journalist and conducts video interviews for our social media and Youtube channels, covering local news in the Lowcountry region for over 15 years.

Pedro has offered countless community resources through his reports and coverage. In 2020, during the protests for the death of George Floyd, Pedro was the only Spanish-speaking journalist who reported and broadcasted live the peaceful protest and the violent riots later that night in downtown Charleston. He represents the Newspaper in the community serving on local and national boards including NAHP, South Carolina Aquarium, Latin Exchange Group, the Hispanic Business Association, and the Latino Advisory Council to the Mayor of Charleston. 

His dedication to our coastal Latino communities is evident in his journalistic vigor and overall dedication to complete and true reports.
